We sold our entire position in Simon Property Group (SPG) on August 20 around $219.70. Friday it closed at $214.56 — roughly 2.3% lower since we got out.
I still think it has further to fall. Depending on where it actually finds a floor, we might buy it back. Not now.
The rest of the portfolio barely moved on Friday: +0.03%. The kind of session that almost feels like a mini vacation after the recent chop. Over the past week we added to Realty Income (O) instead.
Quiet days don’t make headlines. They just keep the account from doing something stupid.
What would make you buy a stock back after selling it — a round number, a yield, or just the feeling that the market has finally given up?
