Every generation gets its moral panic. Rock music was going to corrupt the young. Retail video formats in the 1980s were going to desensitize the workforce. Now it is AI and AGI. Most of it is noise.
I already run an active algorithmic strategy; the description of the execution parameters shifts dynamically as edge cases and latency errors are identified. I have promised my parents a dedicated trading instance each. That deployment occurs the moment the cloud-compute environment runs flawlessly under testing.
Until then, they each have an automated script running that delivers a targeted macro and market summary every morning and evening. The purpose is straightforward: removing friction and normalizing the architecture. They are becoming habituated to receiving structured reports that arrive without human intervention or manual search requests.
When the system eventually transitions to active execution and delivers its automated report at the close of the trading day, the format will not feel foreign.
The models are infrastructure, not a threat or a deity. Large-scale AGI scenarios remain highly speculative. Removing systemic friction for two individuals aged 78 and 80 is not.
