Coming Home Today – And I’m Not Sure I’m Ready

We’re heading back to Stockholm today after two wonderful weeks in Sicily.

The world’s most perfect teenager, who turns 19 in a few weeks, has been home alone for almost exactly a week — the first time in his life.

I’ve been getting notifications from our home alarm app every time he’s come and gone, or locked the door. On Thursday night he locked the apartment… and the alarm hasn’t been triggered since.

That means he hasn’t left the apartment in 65 hours.

We got a bit worried and called him. Turns out he and his friends have been on a proper gaming binge.

I’m almost scared to see (and smell) what the apartment looks like when we get home. An 18-year-old who hasn’t left his gaming chair — or apparently taken a shower — in days…

Motherhood really prepares you for anything. Or at least it tries to.
