After being met by tired and uncommitted customer service staff at Nordnet on several occasions, we decided to stop banging our heads against the wall. Instead, we opened new investment insurance policies for each company with Montrose.
Even though we are dissatisfied with Nordnet, we are not acting rashly. The transfer will be done organically: all dividends will be moved continuously, and other capital will be transferred through natural sales — nothing will be forced.
The purchases we made yesterday (RXT, MPP, and ALTO) were all placed in the new investment insurance policy with Montrose. None of these stocks pay dividends; they are 100% growth stocks.
Since I’m not particularly fond of paying taxes, the thought of having to deposit fresh capital to cover tax on returns feels very counterintuitive, we will in the near future strengthen this portfolio with some solid dividend-paying stocks.
